The 5th UK English–Chinese Bilingual Recitation Competition has officially been launched and will take place at SOAS University of London on 15 November 2026. Organised by The Mothers' Bridge of Love (MBL), Capital Class, and KYX International Education, the competition invites schools and educational organisations across the UK to nurture young bilingual talent. Building on five successful years, the event continues to promote public speaking, literary appreciation and intercultural understanding through the power of English and Chinese recitation.

Taking place on at SOAS University of London, this year’s competition especially welcomes non-Chinese students in the UK, offering them the chance to recite in both English and Chinese, showcase their bilingual skills, and explore cross-cultural understanding. Organised by MBL with Capital Class UK School and education partners, the event provides a meaningful platform for young people to build confidence, share creativity, and celebrate language and culture.

Held at SOAS University of London, the 3rd UK English–Chinese Bilingual Recitation Competition featured online video submissions and live performances, including a special showcase in Oxford. Alongside the contest, free public speaking workshops helped participants build skills and confidence. The event provided a dynamic stage for young people to celebrate language, culture, and creativity.

At SOAS University of London, 36 students aged 6–18 competed in the finals of the 2nd UK English–Chinese Bilingual Recitation Competition, each presenting works in both English and Chinese. Supported by over 40 MBL volunteers, the event was co-organised with cultural and educational partners, aiming to showcase bilingual talent, inspire creativity, and foster mutual understanding between China and the UK. A distinguished panel of twelve judges from literature, education, and media underscored the competition’s commitment to excellence and cultural exchange.

At China Exchange, London, the inaugural UK English–Chinese Bilingual Recitation Competition brought together 20 finalists from across the country after months of training and preliminary rounds. Organised by MBL, Fusion Education (FES), and KYX International, the event showcased young people’s talents through English and Chinese recitations, judged by leading cultural figures. Despite delays caused by the pandemic, the competition came to life with wide support from volunteers, schools, and the community, establishing what is now an annual celebration of bilingual learning and cultural exchange.
