A Search Across Three Decades: Jiang Lan’s Journey to Reconnect with Her Birth Family

Jiang Lan was born on 7 January 1993 in Jiangyin, Jiangsu Province. Just eight days later, on 15 January, she was brought to the local government office in Xishiqiao Town, and soon after placed in the Jiangyin Social Welfare Institute. Not long after, she was adopted by a loving family in the United States and grew up far from the land of her birth.

Now, 30 years later, Jiang Lan continues to carry a deep longing for her roots — to know where she came from and to reconnect with her biological family in China. Through the Jiangyin Birth Family Search Volunteers Association, she is sharing her story and seeking help from the public.

Jiang Lan hopes that someone, somewhere — perhaps a former neighbour, a social worker, or someone with even the faintest memory — might hold the key to her past.

“Dear family, I’m searching for you. May distance no longer keep us apart, and may our reunion no longer wait.”

她的名字叫江兰，1993年1月7日出生，仅仅8天后，于1993年1月15日被送至江苏省江阴市西石桥人民政府，随后被安置于江阴市社会福利院，并最终由美国一户家庭收养，远赴重洋。

三十年过去了，江兰一直珍藏着对故土的思念，也始终怀揣着一个心愿——找到亲生家人，了解自己的来处。

如今，江兰通过江阴寻亲志愿者协会发出呼吁，恳请大家转发扩散，希望能唤起30年前那一幕的知情人——哪怕是只言片语、一个模糊的回忆，都可能成为她通向亲情的关键线索。

“亲爱的家人，我正在找你。希望不再遥远，团圆不再等待。”
