World Children’s Day: Listening to Every Child’s Voice

Designed by Yuchi Zou

A Day for Every Child, Everywhere

Each year on 20 November, people around the world come together to celebrate United Nations World Children’s Day — a day dedicated to promoting children’s rights and building a better world for every child.

This date marks two milestones in history:

1959: The UN General Assembly adopted the Declaration of the Rights of the Child.

1989: The Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) was adopted — the most widely ratified human rights treaty in the world.

These documents remind us that every child has the right to grow up in safety, dignity, and love, regardless of nationality, background, or circumstance.

Listening Is Where Love Begins

At The Mothers’ Bridge of Love (MBL), we believe that caring for children begins with listening — to their stories, their laughter, their fears, and their dreams.

Children do not need a perfect world; they need adults who care enough to understand them.
They need spaces where their ideas are valued and their individuality is celebrated.

They need bridges — of empathy, kindness, and communication — that connect them to others across cultures and continents.

When we listen to a child, we are not just hearing a voice; we are nurturing the future.

Building Bridges of Love and Understanding

Since its founding, MBL has been dedicated to connecting East and West, parents and children, cultures and generations.

Through storytelling, art, and dialogue, we have witnessed how understanding can heal and how love can bridge even the widest gaps.

On this World Children’s Day, we reaffirm our belief that:
🌏 Every child’s story matters.
💙 Every act of kindness counts.
🤝 Every bridge we build brings the world a little closer together.

A Wish for the World’s Children

May every child grow up feeling seen, heard, and safe.

May love replace fear, and hope outshine hardship.

And may we — adults, parents, and communities — continue to learn from the courage, honesty, and light that children bring into our world.

Happy World Children’s Day from all of us at The Mothers’ Bridge of Love!
