Upcoming Event | “Haha! Britain” Comes to Reading Academy
This August, in the height of the British summer, a rich feast of ideas on cultural exchange and integration between East and West will unfold at the University of Reading’s Henley Business School.
On 16 August 2025, The Mothers’ Bridge of Love (MBL) will join hands with Reading Academy to host a special in-person event. As a key stop in the Haha! Britain series, the programme will bring together four distinguished guest speakers from diverse fields — spanning philosophy, humanities, history, and social commentary — for a session that promises both depth and warmth.
Our Guest Speakers
🎙 Tang Yinshan
Professor and Associate Dean at Henley Business School, long-time lecturer on Dao De Jing. He will share the vision and plans for Reading Academy, along with unique insights into the characteristics of Eastern and Western cultures and the principles behind cultural integration.
🎙 Zhao Xiao
PhD in Chinese History, freelance writer, and former lecturer at several universities in China and the UK. Speaking on “Transparency in Everyday Life in Eastern and Western Cultures”, she will introduce aspects of contemporary British culture.
🎙 He Yue
Labour Party candidate for local council elections, member of the UK National Union of Journalists, and founder of the British Chinese Council. She will introduce the inspiration behind the “Burst-the-Bubble Club” and its future vision.
🎙 Xue Xinran
Acclaimed Chinese-British writer and founder of MBL. She will reflect on MBL’s 21-year history, the influence of Haha! Britain, and share upcoming plans for future events.
