Fang Haixi: Searching for Her Origins Through Smiles and Dance | 房海希：在笑容与舞蹈之间，寻找自己的来处

A bright smile and a love of dancing — these are often people’s first impressions of Fang Haixi.

Haixi is now 15 years old. She was born with a cleft lip and palate, which had already been surgically repaired before she was adopted to the Netherlands. Later, she was adopted by a Dutch family and grew up in a loving and supportive environment, living a healthy and happy life.

As the years have passed, Haixi has become increasingly curious about where she comes from.

She wants to know: where is her true beginning? And how are the people connected to her by blood living today?

She says she holds no resentment towards her birth parents. In this search, she carries a calm and sincere wish — to understand the earliest chapter of her life, and perhaps one day to build a connection with her biological family.

Searching for family is not always about regret. Sometimes, it is simply a natural question that arises as a child grows older: Who am I? Where do I come from?
