Today, with great excitement, we are delighted to officially unveil the core artist line-up for this landmark event.

A Constellation of Stars, A Gathering of Masters

Lili Fang

A UK-based lyric coloratura soprano, National First-Class Performer, winner of China’s highest vocal music honour, the Wenhua Award, and founder of the Fang Lili Vocal Studio. Renowned for her distinctive integration of folk singing, Western classical bel canto, and traditional Chinese opera techniques, she is affectionately known as “the colourful oriole.” Fang Lili has appeared as a principal soloist at the Vienna Musikverein Golden Hall, starred in multiple operatic productions, and performed at the Edinburgh International Festival. She has long been committed to international touring, bringing Chinese national vocal art to audiences worldwide.

Alateng Chaoketu

An inheritor of Mongolian khoomei (overtone singing) as an item of Intangible Cultural Heritage, and a master morin khuur (horse-head fiddle) performer. He has won the Gold Award at the Vienna International Arts Competition and successfully challenged CCTV’s Golden 100 Seconds. His performances have ranged from dedicated concerts in Hainan to major stages in Vienna, as well as invited appearances at the Embassy of Pakistan and desert performances in Dubai. His representative work Ten Thousand Horses Galloping evokes the vastness and power of the grasslands, as he dedicates himself to sharing the celestial sounds of the steppe with the world.

Jingkun China Arts

Jingkun China Arts is a London-based performing arts organisation dedicated to preserving and presenting the essence of Peking Opera and Kunqu through a contemporary, international lens. Comprising professional opera performers, directors, and scholars, the company combines rigorous technique with innovative spirit, allowing tradition to flourish within a modern context. Its productions have toured internationally, including the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, New York, and Beijing, and it actively delivers educational workshops to share the beauty of Chinese opera with global audiences.

UK Chinese Theatre Arts

UK Chinese Theatre Arts is a UK-based non-profit organisation dedicated to the inheritance and contemporary development of Chinese opera. With Peking Opera and Kunqu at its core, the group explores new international expressions of traditional theatre through systematic training, stage productions, and cross-cultural creation.

The organisation regularly presents classic excerpts and innovative works at UK universities, concert halls, and arts festivals, while collaborating closely with local musicians, dancers, and theatre practitioners. Through experimental concerts and workshops that integrate operatic elements, it upholds the principle of “rooted tradition with creative innovation,” respecting the intrinsic aesthetics of Chinese opera while engaging openly in East–West dialogue, injecting lasting vitality into the global transmission and evolution of operatic arts.
