“The Little Match Girl” — A Fairy-Tale Ballet

A Heart-Warming London Performance | January 2026

The fairy-tale ballet The Little Match Girl, jointly produced by TG Ballet and Yuhua Chinese School, and sponsored by Mothers’ Bridge of Love, will be warmly presented on 10 January 2026 at Greenwood Theatre, London.

Step into the world of Hans Christian Andersen as we present this newly created ballet adaptation of The Little Match Girl. Based on Andersen’s beloved classic and enriched with new narrative elements, the production tells a deeply moving yet powerful story through striking emotional contrasts. On a snowy winter’s night, it calls out for love, compassion, and kindness.

🌟 Special Bonus Performance: Jeux

The evening will also feature a rare and highly celebrated ballet, Jeux. Composed by French master Claude Debussy and choreographed by the Polish-Russian ballet pioneer Vaslav Nijinsky, the work has been hailed by critics as “poetry in motion.”

Light, fresh, and playful in style, Jeux blends neo-classical elegance with modern ballet aesthetics.

The story unfolds:

At dusk in a park, a young boy is playing tennis when the ball accidentally flies away. While searching for it, he encounters two girls. The three begin to play childhood games on the grass, and a subtle love triangle quietly emerges…
Suddenly, the tennis ball flies back.
