Born in 1990, Chu Hong now lives in the Netherlands.

She speaks Chinese and has also lived and worked in China. For seven years, she has continued learning the language, hoping it would bring her closer to this country — and closer to the beginning of her own life story.

According to the information currently available, Chu Hong was found on 28 September 1990 beside a stamp-collecting shop near Penshuichi in Guiyang, Guizhou Province. At the time, a woman asked two sisters, Liu Li and Liu Qiong, who were on their way to the toilet, to look after the baby for a moment. She said she would return shortly, but never came back.

Fortunately, a note was left with Chu Hong. It recorded her name and approximate date of birth. That small piece of paper became one of the only remaining links to the earliest part of her life.

Many years later, she began searching for her birth family.

She says she is not searching with resentment.

She simply wants to understand where her story began, and to say one thing to her birth parents: “Thank you for giving me life.”

For many adoptees, searching for their birth family is not a rejection of the love they have received from their adoptive parents. Rather, it is a way of understanding their origins and completing the missing pieces of their story.

Knowing who they are and where they come from does not diminish their gratitude towards those who raised them. On the contrary, it allows love to take on a broader meaning.

根据现有资料，褚红于1990年9月28日在贵州省贵阳市喷水池集邮门市部旁被发现。当时，一位女性将她交给正准备去上厕所的刘丽、刘琼姐妹照看，说很快回来，却从此再也没有出现。

幸运的是，褚红身上留有一张字条，上面写着她的姓名和大约的出生日期。这张小小的字条，也成为她与生命最初那段时光之间仅存的连接。

多年以后，她开始寻找自己的亲生家人。

她说，自己并不是带着埋怨而来。

她只是想知道，自己的故事从哪里开始；也想对亲生父母说一句：“谢谢你们给了我生命。”

对于许多被收养者而言，寻亲并非否定养父母给予的爱，而是希望了解自己的来处，让生命的拼图更加完整。
